My daughter is due to go to Kardemena in two weeks, her first holiday without mum and dad. Is there adequate access to cash dispensers (Mestro, Highline) or should she take travellers cheques and/or cash?

According to those websites there is only one Visa ATM in Kardamena, the Piraeus bank near the taxi station.

Personally I would buy euros from the Post Office and use the hotel's safe, although last time I went (1995) I used a secure locker office in Kardamena square as our hotel didn't have a safe.
Take some cash to get started, there's more cash dispensers in Kos town (a bus/taxi ride away).

Hope she enjoys it - it's certainly geared towards the younger generation!
