Sharm El Shiek

I'm off to Sharm el Shiek in September and was wondering what is the best currency to take? I went to Luxor about 10 years ago and took dollars, is this the same for Sharm?

The last time I was in Luxor it was dollars I took as well, but I think now it's best to take sterling (the Dollar's not as strong as it once was!), and if I remember correctly it's quite a good exchange rate just now.

I was in Egypt last October and I took sterling. Had no problems exchanging this for Egyptian pounds. All hotels will exchange sterling.

hiya, i went there in march and took egyptian pounds and had no problems whatsoever. i would recomend taking them. you can spend english pounds there also if you prefer
