It is highly likely that you will receive a fixed penalty notice You will not get any penalty points if you are the holder of a UK driving licence. I have received fixed penalty notices for speeding both from Holland and Belgium. Both took about 3 months from the date of the offence to arrive. I've ignored them both and am now waiting to see if the authorities will take any further action.
I would think that it's unlikely you will receive any fine. At the moment the Garda Sochna (police) are trying to implement a penalty points system here which has been delayed because of the computer system so I wouldn't think they'd go chasing you. As mikewall says they would not have the authority to impose points on your licence. Of course I could be completely wrong & you may be extradited & sent down for a ten stretch!
Nothing will happen to you at al as fines or bans dont get back to your home. This was a relife to me as I got flashed in Ireland this summer and was ******** myself however notthing can be done to you!! Its also the same with parkign tickets as ou just rip them up and say you have never seen them
