Can anyone recommend a relaxing 4*5* hotel with tavernas & restaurants (but not clubs) either on the mainland or one of the Islands, a 'spa' hotel would be good, also it needs to have single accomodation as there will be 3 people.

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese, but don't be put off by the bad press. It's only crowded and noisy in Faliraki and Lindos at night and early hours. If you are looking for a good place to stay at a reasonable rate try Pefkos. Also the local car hire is very cheap, the roads relatively uncluttered and the island is small enough to drive from one end to the other in just over an hour and a half. The beaches are clean, food is cheap and a visit to Rhodes town is a treat.
