Family hols in majorca

can any one recommend resorts and hotels to take a 6 year old on his first foreign holiday.

I would recommend Puerto Pollensa - it's a nice family resort with nice hotels/apartments and beaches, and without being overrun with discos and clubs (I think there is one in the resort).

Its where we were taken as children and I was pleased to find out that it has not been over run with drunken youths!

I would agree Chazza, Puerto Pollensa in the north west is a great place to take kids in Mallorca - also very nice for the adults too! Whenever we've stayed there we have hired a villa www.villaparade.co.uk but I know here are plenty of apartments and resorts there too (sorry don't know of any though). Have a good holiday!

not sure if you have already booked for Majorca but I went to Menorca with my sister and her family. We stayed in Cala n Blanes. It was a very family orientated place. I liked Puerto Pollensa in Majorca very much too but no children with me so cannot really comment on what it was like for families.

I agree with the suggestion of Puerto Pollensa but what aboutBarcarets which is fairly near but a very quiet place within walking distance of Alcudia town(the old capital of Majorca and a fascinating place.there are only a couple of smallish hotels on a gorgeous safe beach and some lovely walksthrough pine woods etc.We first took our children there over 30 years ago and it hasn't changed very much (Kids have though!) and they still say it was one of the best places they visited when young and my youngest was 4 the first time there
