WHY is there never any trips, to the west side of Mexico, ever advertised anywhere? I know that (Oahtoco?) or however it's pronounced, is a beautiful place and very un advertised!

maybe because there isn't a tourist infrastructure away from the capital and the big beach resorts - not enough hotels for mass tourism, for instance. Or maybe, with small places, having too many visitors would just mean they'd lose what was attractive about them. (Are you talking about Oaxaca? I thought it was beautiful, but not a place where millions of people would go.)
Having been to the Pacific coast of Mexico this year, I agree you are right. There are a large number of resorts on that coast (Acapulco being the best known) and Americans widely frequent them. The issue from the UK is probably the lack of direct flights. You can get to Mexico City by direct scheduled flight (BA), then there is a vast internal travel infrastructure by air or coach; otherwise you have to go via the USA. A travel agent would be able to fix you up with a holiday on the Pacific coast by booking the various elements separately.
