once u get a green card, does it mean u have to move to america immediately

im from england my boyfriend has received his green card and intends on moving there in couple of weeks, but does he have to go.......just out of curiousity ??

As far as I remember, you have to land the country within a certain period of time, I guess within half a year. Then if you are not going to stay there, you can leave the country but have to re-enter again within half a year. For safety sake, please check again with the Embassy.
