Not sure what your train operator is in reading (I'm in Yorkshire) check out their website and you'll more than likley be able to book it online
Otherwise check with National Express if they go direct to London from Reading- usually victoria - and then tube it from there. I suggest asking because you may laugh but Reading to London might mean - Reading, Swindon, Cardiff, Birmingham London !!! If you get my drift !

it's a convoluted journey by any route. Best thing you can do (assuming you're not drinking) is to drive to a station on Line of Route - eg Gerrard's Cross, park there & then take the train direct to Wembley Stadium. http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/ has details of stations with car parks (and cost) and train timetables.
"a friend who absolutely hates trains"?! How odd. Why? And how annoying. What with the arena/stadium complex having its own STATION and everything. I'd give the friend their ticket, say "see you at the gig" and send them off to the coach to begin their tedious journey, while I jumped on the train and settled back with a smug grin.
