Can anyone tell me the best way to get from Heathrow to Plymouth (train/coach etc) if I was arriving on a friday afternoon and wanted to leave again on a Monday lunchtime. Thanks.

I'd say get the Heathrow Express to Paddington and then a train from Paddington to Plymouth. But it's a long journey and will probably take you 5 hours if you're not lucky with connections at Paddington. You can check train times at www.thetrainline.com. It might be quicker and cheaper to hire a car and head along the M4 to Bristol and then down the M5 to Exeter. From there you can take the A38 to Plymouth. It's easy to find the way, and would take about 4 hours.
