I was looking for people and places. Is this the equivalent?
Anyway, I was going to say that i've just got back from seeing The blackpool Illuminations. I was really disappointed and thought they were looking very tired, sparse and cheap.
Anyone agree?

hi crisgal....hope you've trailed some string behind you or you'll never find your way back!

I live nr Derby but Blackpool was our second home for years as my (ex) husband's family lived there. The last time we went , many yrs ago, we agreed that it looked shabby & cheap as you say....I don't know how old you are but we decided that it had probably always been tacky but when you're younger & there for night life you tend not to notice.....!

I'm so confused!

I live in fleetwood, just down the tram track from blackpool, and so have gone every year.
I'm in my forties and with three kids, have seen them many, many times.
I have never noticed the shabbiness before though. Maybe it's my age as you say.......

I went back to butlins phwhellli (sp?) once too, and really wished i hadn't! What a dump!! I'd loved it in '73!!

Fleetwood, been there yes, I seem to recall going on a very rough boat ride there....

Oh Butlitz....we went to the Skeggy one when my sons were small - day ticket only thank goodness. Everything stopped at dinner time so we tunnelled our way out!
