I know it depends on the company and so on, but does anyone have any kind of rough figure as to how much it would cost to hire coaches to take 260 people to a theme park? It would be a drop off/pick up kind of thing, and probably about 6-10 hours in total - it's for an IT assignment. (and it's in the UK.)

Why not phone a company and ask them?

How far is the theme park? That will make a big difference. Will it be possible for the driver to go home and do another job?

Do you want admission included? That will make a big difference.

As an example of hire costs I recently hired a 55 seater to go maybe 80 miles each way leaving 10am and arrival home 10pm - 300. The driver hung about the destination all day.
300 is a good price. Some coach firms will churn out the elderly vehicles that they keep chickens in or use for school runs at a cheaper price. A day coach hire can be from around 300 to 550 pounds per coach. Shop around, that's what I do. Remember certain clients will expect a certain type of bus, for school kids, one fitted with seatbelts, for wealthy tourists, one with A/C and a bog. This can affect the price as can the option of whether the driver can fit in another job in the interim.
Hi Drwhofan!
I used to organise coach trips every month for a day centre. We used to go to various destinations in north Europe and around the UK. The costs mostly depend on the mileage to the destination and it varies with different companies. I also found that I could negotiate discounts and some free tickets with some of the companies that I used regularly. The costs for your assignment are very flexible and I suggest you ring several firms and have a friendly chat. Even better, just call in on them.
