Most of the regular contributors to AB usually keep an eye on the posts which they've replied to. This is so that we can respond to subsidiary questions posed by the questioner or 'cross swords' with other contributors, who attempt to 'rubbish' our posts ;-)
So, they easiest way to acknowledge a post is simply to post a reply to your own question. (Alternatively, of course, there's always the 'stars' system. Just click on 'Rate this answer' to use it).
