Wot is an easy guide to tell apart BMW 3 series, 5 series, 7 series and M3 & M5? Is there anyway to tell them apart from just looking at them? or is it all to do with the interior? Is there any major features that can help tell them apart? LukeMc

It can be done. There are very subtle differences that can be noticed by someone who looks - most BMW owners do! For example, a 316 looks quite cheap and tacky, even when kitted up. A 318 looks similar but slightly more refined, and the 320 is almost identical but tends to have slightly different curves around the base. A 323 usually looks crisper with a 328 looking really sleek. The M3 has engine vents, clear indicators and rounded mirrors. This sounds really sad, and indeed it is... so I'll stop. Oh and I don't own one now, though I used to and did look at others back then ;-) At least mine wasn't kitted!
Er... the 5 series is bigger than the 3 series and the 7 series is bigger than the 5 series. The M's have a little M badge on the back.
why do you want to know?easy way... look at the numbers on the back 3-series starts with a 3,5 series with a 5 etc,etc
