I am off to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and I would like to know whether I can purchase wine there and how much does it cost - also how much alcohol can I take into KL?

Yes you can buy wine, roughly at UK prices. Halal restraunts do not sell any kind of alcohol. Most upmarket places are not halal, most fast food chains are. You can take a litre of spirits or wine in.

Hi ducketts - I have just transited KL and bought a litre bottle of Cutty Sark for 50 ringgit ( about �8.00). A litre of Bacardi is about the same as is a wonderful litre of Tanqueray. Mind you, all this was at the duty free area of the airport so well worth picking up before exiting.
Not sure of the situation outside though.
