New York
My family want to go to new york for christmas next year, and we are arguing over what airline to go on, I really want to go on virgin, cos its the best in my opinion, but it only goes 2 New York from Heathrow. My mum refuses 2 go from heathrow as it is " a crap airport and it allways looses luggage!" she is saying go on Fly Globespan from liverpool in buisness class, the buisness class is the same as any other airline in economy. Any other ideas which airlines (we r in the price range of economy- premium economy) any other good airlines? my dad said he wouldnt mind going from schipol in amsterdam as it is a "nice" Airport thanks 4 ur help!!

BA did lose my luggage on the way home but delivered to my house the next day and it saved me taking it on the tube. Virgin have better staff and is worth the journey for the video games. Why not travel down and stay in the Holiday inn, you can leave your car there or if you are coming by public transport they will drop you off at the Airport ( 10 MINS) free. Yes Heathrow is big ( and getting bigger) but it has improved in the last ten years.

Hi seare!
I can't say enough good things about Virgin! They're the best we've ever flown with. We flew from Heathrow to NY with them for our Christmas holiday this (last) year.
Fantastic! They really look after you. No problems with our luggage either and we had five pieces (on the way back from the shopping) for just the two of us! :o))

If you live in the north west I would fly direct from the north west. Just imagine if you'd booked to fly from Heathrow a couple of weeks ago when there was all that fog and yet you could have flown from Manchester no problem. Each change just makes for more things that can go wrong! Also, when you're flying home there's nothing worse than landing after a long flight, you're knackered and want to go home yet you've to wait for another flight before you can go home. If you fly via Amsterdam it's going to add hours onto your journey time, is it really worth it?
I have flown with Virgin to Florida from Manchester, and yes, it was a good flight, however I have also flown American Airlines to Chicago and Continental to Newark (New York) and found them very good. I am off to New York again in a couple of months and am flying direct from Manchester with BA.
