Hi, does anyone know of a website or national company where i can book a hotel for a short London break now and then pay for later? Hoping to go July time x

whenever i book hotels they take card details to secure the booking (and would charge them in the event of you not turning up) but no charge is made until you actually check out. Try activehotels website.

Most of the chain hotels allow you to book - often at special rates - with your CC as guarantee. You can cancel without penalty up to (typically) 4pm on the day you are due to arrive. You actually pay when you check out - or at worst when you arrive.
