Does anyone know if there is a direct tube link between these 2 places, please?
I have to get from LLS to Terminals 1,2 and 3 on Monday and on some 'destination planner' I found it is suggesting there IS a direct link (which would be wonderful as I have no idea how to get round London!) but when I look elsewhere, I am directed to Paddington and then to either of 2 links to T 1,2 and 3.
There's no direct tube link. The Piccadilly line that runs through Kings Cross goes onto Heathrow at the far Western terminus. Kings Cross is 4 stations along from Liverpool Street on the Circle Line. You either go from L'pool Street to Kings X, change trains and run onto Heathrow. Or you take the same Circle line as far as Paddington, change trains to the overground Heathrow Express to Heathrow. The first option is cheaper but takes longer.
Alternatively you can get the Central Line from Liverpool Street to Holborn and change there onto the Piccadilly line for Heathrow. Don't know which is the easier interchange.
Your 'destination planner' may be referring to a planned line Crossrail which would provide a direct link to Heathrow. However the politicians are still arguing about building it so it is many years away, if it ever happens.
I used the National Rail website (I think) and was presented with 'Heathrow Underground' from LLS all the way to Heathrow. No other details so I was confused.
If the politicians want any input from me over the issue, I say DO IT!
