It ain't easy - although it's not impossible, for most Brits the hurdles are too great.

You'll need a visa:

has details.

The two 'easiest' ways are:

marry a US citizen

get a job of a specified type with a US company
USA loves the uk accent so if you are a confident fairly decent looking outgoing single person, take a holiday in a busy place and go for the marriage card!! good luck
Years ago if you were offered a job by a US employer you were OK, but in recent years I think that the employers has to show why an American cannot do the job.The US used to give out a large number of Immigrant Visa's every year, don't know if they still do. But if you are English you would not qualify. If you were Irish or had Irish parents or grandparents you could apply. I knew a couple who wanted to move to the US and start a business taking their very young children with them. The problem was they were told that once their children became adults they would have to leave. Try Goggling US Immigration. Or you need to see a immigration lawyer.
