flight to Mumbai

I have to travel to Mumbai in May, I usually fly Virgin out of Heathrow, but the more I use Heathrow the more I hate it and its such a pain to get there for me.
Does anyone know if there are any direct flights from Gatwick/Stansted/Luton ?

I googled Gatwick/Mumbai and you can do it in May for apprx �490 with Emirate. Flights will go via the Gulf. Try google - last minute.com say they have flights too. so they may have a good deal.

which is the nearest airport to you?. All airports fly to Amsterdam Schipol. Use Amsterdam as your hub and get connecting lfights to anywhere in the world from there including mumbai. I do the same. Schipol is a afabulous airport and i save 5 hrs journey time.

thanks for the help& effort on our behalf, trouble is my husband is reg blind, so changing planes is worse than getting to Heathrow as you have to carry everything with you and he has medication we have to take with.+ the wait for the next flight.
We lived in Dubai for 14yrs[ before he lost his sight] and going via Dubai is an awful long haul --8hrs to Dubai change and wait in transit then 3 hrs to Mumbai, we would be exhausted.
Its nice to know that you guys have tried to help us for which I am very grateful, I was hoping that maybe there was a once a week flight from Gatwick or Stansted.
