this question gets asked every few days, the US CUSTOMS do NOT have access to our criminal records and therefore unless you have been convicted of a very serious crime,ie,drug running, murder, terroist plots, etc the only way they find out is if you tell them on the visa waiver form,i should imagine thousands of people lie on the form every year,i know a guy who has a record as long as your arm and he gets in every time.even the new type passport has no criminal things on it.
all the chip has on it is the same information that is already printed in your passport. It's just there in a second form to make it harder to counterfeit.

Whilst I appreciate your answers lads, I am aware of the question being answered every other day. I have read all those questions and replies, which is why I asked specifically for anyone who has PERSONALLY entered via the visa waiver programme to reply. No disrespect meant, but thats why I worded it like that as for every person saying its fine there is one saying its not.

SO I INVITE ANYONE WHO HAS PERSONALLY TRIED TO LET ME KNOW THERE EXPERIENCES

thanks
