Cheap and Cheerful

We will be driving (husbad won't fly) to Lake Garda for our hols in June and am looking for cheap accomodation for on the way down there.We're looking at travelling from Zebbruugger via Germany, France and Switzerlad and was thinking about something like the Formula1 motels they have in france for overnight stays- does anyone know if they have any motel chains like this in the countries I have mentioned? TIA

Accor are the chain with F1, Ibis etc in their range. I know they're in Germany and France and a couple of F1s in Switzerland.
