I'm really excited, I've just booked a holiday to Margarita and I go in June, I booked it with 1st choice who specialise in these holidays. However I have also just realised I know nothing about the Island other than what is in the brouchers and there appears to be relatively little information on the net! The travel agent gave some information but I want to know more! I'm staying in the Isla Caribe beach hotel...Has anyone been there? or know of anyone who has been there? How about the isla Margarita in general anyone been there? Whats the weather like?Lots of questions but any comments/suggestions feedback? It would be much appreciated! Both good and bad welcome! Look forward to hearing from you.

You could try this website:

http://www.margaritaislandguide.com/

but it's a bit basic and no doubt biased in favour of "Walter's Tours" who own it
been there 3 times on cruises which stop at a place on the east end of the island. The third time, I never bothered to get off the ship as there was not much to do. The weather was always good though
Have a look at Trip Advisor - they seem to have a few things, hotel reviews etc by people who've been there.

Pls believe an American Airlines Flight Attendant-19yrs seniority-when he says your heading to the perfect destination if you're looking for sun, fun, sometimes breathtaking landscapes and laid back people. Ignore the tourists-apart from the cool ones-and try to get in touch with locals. Very easy at this place...leave your english at home and learn some spanish phrases! Most important one is "Hola amigo"
Don't miss a tour to the Orinocco Delta and the Angel Falls.
For more detailed info about my favorite place to be, please contact me.
If not, please say Hola Amigo to Fernando, Carlos and the rest of the Bar and Beach Bunch from the carrot-topped German/American who spent two fantastic weeks there in February 07
