Actually I quite enjoy flying - despite being a bit of a nervous flyer!
For me it is part of the excitement of going away - the anticipation of the outbound flight, re-reading your guide book, looking over what your plans are, where you are going to go, what you are going to see etc.. Then on the return thinking about the trip, what you'll tell friends and family etc..
I also tend to try and use it as a place to relax (though I will admit that at 5 ft 8in leg room can be a bit of a problem however I tend to get up and wander around - I do always ask for an aisle seat - which is part of keeping my nervousness at bay!), read a book, do puzzles, watch a movie if it's long haul, eat and drink whatever is on offer(or in the case of budget airlines what we have brought with us)!
However , I am not one for making small talk whether it's on planes, trains etc.. I'd rather sit in glorious anonymity! And as for the cattle market of getting onto the plane (at least where low cast airlines are concerned) don't get me started! On the whole though I rather like flying. Sorry!
