Weekend has to include Friday?!
4 Answers
Hi all,
Need a bit of advice...
I just had a conversation with a small campsite in Suffolk where I want to spend a couple of days from Saturday to Tuesday. The bloke at the campsite said that we will have to include Friday even though we won't arrive until Saturday. The reason he gives is that people arrive early on Saturday and he doesn't want to be bothered that early. Is this normal? ..or have I just been fooled. I haven't booked yet as I have to send a cheque as a deposit first so he can book the dates I want.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rebecca

(For example, the majority of B&B establishments in Brighton do this).
However there will be plenty of alternative campsites in Suffolk that don't have this policy. If you'd like some suggestions just ask. (I'm in Suffolk). If you do so, please state whether your definition of 'campsite' means static caravans, touring caravans or tents.
If you mean tents or touring caravans, you might like to take a look at this site. My friend often stays there, in her campervan, and I've been to visit her many times. The site is small enough to be quiet but big enough to have a bar. It's situated right on the cliff tops, looking out to sea. It's a great place for touring around the Suffolk coast:

Thanks, i did take a look at the website and it looks lovely. We need to be located in near Woodbridge so we're just going to stay in one spot for those days.
The bloke did sound like a grump on the phone, not the type of voice you would expect to hear when booking your 'holiday'!! I would have been fine if it were put the other way round, something like - weekends are more expensive than weekdays. Anyway, I shall take it with a pinch of salt, and move onto another campsite in the area!
Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
This site is brand new and easily accessible from Woodbridge:

Only a little further away(on the edge of Ipswich), this site is popular because of it's location near the RIver Orwell and its associated country park:

I don't know anything about this site, but it's close to Woodbridge:

Whenever I drive past this site, I always think what a lovely location it is:
