Many thanks for swift answer. The best site was "Options" but even they could not insure for the 45 day holiday. My best find so far is "Insure for all" - 283, which I think is very dear for my fit and sprightly mother!!!
Hi
Which? report for May on travel insurance suggests
CIS, Bradford & Bingley and the AA as best buys for age 75+
Hope this helps

Thanks for trying, but either my mother's age or the length of her holiday are the excluding factors from your suggestions. 80's are the new 70's aren't they, so insurance should reflect that!!!
I don't know if any of the gap year insurers would extend their long-term policy to cover people your mother's age.

Have you tried annual insurance policies? Some of them only cover single trips of up to a month, but some may allow longer journeys.

Many thanks again - you are really trying hard!!! However, the length of her holiday together with her age remain the stumbling blocks. "Insure for all" will be laughing all the way to the bank with her money!
Hi
Looking in Lifestyle 50 plus leaflet, there is a piece on travel insurance, and suggests for 80-85 yrs and for longer holidays, try Golfguard 0800 581801. Might be worth a try!
