The US are very fussy about food imports but these particular products will not cause a problem
Laburnum, I see this type of question quite often. I don't understand why you have to take such mundane items as tea and chocolate if you are going on a vacation to to a foreign country. Are you not going there to experience different sights, sounds, tastes, language (sort of), culture, etc? Leave your tea and chocolate at home and just go and enjoy yourself..............hope you have a good time.
No need to take tea.Tea bags widely available in nearly every supermarket we went into.It seemed to be mainly Lipton's though.Even Earl Grey was not a problem.

American tea and chocolate is generally quite horrible to British tastes, so I'd certainly take my own.

I spend about 7-8 months there a year, and I pack my bags to bursting point with these goods each time I go.

ps and no you'll be fine at customs, declare them on the customs form without any worry at all.
