Bilbao and San Sebastian - how close?
I'm going to Bilbao in June and I've always wanted to visit San Sebastian - are they day-trip distance apart? Is it a journey that is well-served by public transport? Has anyone on here been to either or both destinations and can recommend some sights? TIA

http://www.euskotren.es/castellano/horarios/pd f/negua/Bilbao-Donostia.pdf - at the moment the fares page is "under construction" so you'll have to ring for fares (how's your Basque?)
Buses are run by Alsa, approx every 2 hours, journey time 1hr20mn (they use the motorway) - regular fare is EUR6.53 single. http://www2.alsa.es/portal/index.asp?lang=en & unlike the Euskotren site this has an English option.
