Villa in Portugal

Has anyone stayed in a really nice villa (close to beach and within walking distance of amenities) in portugal that they can recommend? or a good company for me to book through. We've never stayed in villa before and im not sure of the most recommended companies or which would be better avoided. Also should we book a complete package (flights, car hire etc) or sort these out seperately? many thanks.

Hi, iv stayed in Villas with both Sovereign and Meon (who i think are part of first choice??) both offered excellent service and package deals. We stayed in Spain and Mallorca but not Portugal sorry!

best place to look is ownersdirect.co.uk it shows you what you will get and you deal with the owners so no middle man.

we've been with James villas a few times, but have also booked through a few independant ones. Those based in the actual country / resort offer good deals.
choose a resort you like the look of from the brochures, or have a look on-line, then do a search for villa's in that area on google. you can then check if they're ABTA bonded etc.
most will book flights etc for you, but it will probably work out cheaper for you to do it yourself. Getting a taxi at the airports easy enough too.
praia de luz, alvor, and portimao were all very nice.
