For comparison, the South coast resorts are about 30 miles further away (Brighton = 117 miles) as is the East Anglian resort, Felixstowe (116 miles). Heading up to the Wash, takes you to Hunstanton (101 miles).

Hunstanton is really nice.
Not a gaudy seaside town like Blackpool or Southend, but a fairly quiet Victorian town with a lovely beach.
There is a small fun fair and things for kids, but it does not dominate the town.
One strange things about Hunstanton is that although it it on the EAST coast it actually faces WEST (because it is on the Wash). It is the only town on the East coast to face West.
So you get GREAT sunsets there. In fact people drive from surrounding areas to park on the sea front JUST to see the sunsets.
There are also some amazing cliffs in Hunstanton, with three colored layers, see here:
