Morning all!
When in the Maldives, is it better to take the local Rufiyaa (i think that's how it's spelt) currency, or just US Dollars? I've been told that USD are fine...

Thanks.

All the sites I've check recommend US Dollars.
I'd be very surprised if any of the exchange bureaus keep the currency of such a small country. Take dollars - though this will mean changing your money twice, losing a bit each time. You may find your hotel will take sterling - email them and ask?

Great! Thanks for your help, guys!
You won't have to change your currency twice. US dollars are universal in the Maldives, with most shop prices displayed in that currency. You may never see any local currency on your trip, except as small change on a purchase.
