Valid passport for Spain

Travelling to Spain on 16th Aug 2007 my passport runs out on 19th Feb 2008 will it be valid only staying 1 week.

Why wouldn't it - it's UK passport valid to Feb 08 and your coming back 6 months prior to that ?

Because I understand that a passport has to be valid for some time after arriving in Spain (in case you are not able to travel back for any reason) I am trying to find how many months that is.

For Spain your passport just has to be valid - same for any EU country

But when you get back why don't you renew your passport then. You can do this when there is still nine months left to run on your passport and the remaining months are credited to your new passport.
