I am Planning a trip to Auckland NZ, then to Brunei and overland to Beijing where i will catch the Transiberian train to St Petersburg for my flight home.

I have been told that the easiest way to fly to NZ and then to Brunei is, if i buy a return flight via Brunei to NZ where i ask for a stopover on the return, i will get my bags back to continue my trip! Is there going to be a problem if the flight is 3 stops, the middle one being Brunei (where i will leave the return flights to the UK), so missing 2 flights on the return??

How will you travel overland from Brunei to Beijing? Brunei is part of the Island of Borneo so it is not possible to travel overland to China - you would have to take another flight to Hong Kong or somewhere.

I will travel through south east asia, Malasia, Thailand, Loas, Cambodia etc to get to china!!
You sure it's not cheaper just to fly Royal Brunei to Auckland (via Brunei and Brisbane, I think), then back to Brunei?

Yes that is the route. Price is not the problem.

it's possible that not showing up may put you on some security services' lists as a person who's vanished en route and therefore up to something dodgy. I did this once long ago and had no trouble, but airlines are more careful now as they are responsible for getting people in and out of countries.

But what I meant was rather than buy 2 sectors you're not going to use, why not just buy a single London-Auckland and a single Auckland-Brunei? It may be more expensive - or it may not.

ok, thanks for the info, I will look into that.
Nerradx, your final flight will not be to Brunei, you will still need have a further flight to Malaysia - KL or somewhere - from Brunei - unless you plan to swim!
