Just flew from Southampton to Jersey, why is it that security is so strict going out, but coming back it seems very lenient? I've noticed this when flying further afield as well from various airports.

As usual in this country the authorities seem to leap at every opportunity to inconvenience the airline passengers. The majority of the security measures seem to apply only to UK departures. It's not as if they are doing anything to make us feel safer. Perhaps if they actually managed to catch someone, rather than "closing the stable door...."!
i believe all this was started because they caught some mad man trying to smuggle chemicals onboard a plane from birmingham to the usa.
he even had his wife and child with him.
im sorry but it gets right on my nerves when folk complain about security.
these will be the same folk praying to god and crying their eyes out if their plane was taking a dive towards a building like on 911.

security is necessary and from sppain is the same as the uk so i dont see a problem.or would you rather share a plane with a shoe bomber??or a chemical bomber ?

btw both flying FROM britain.
Well said Legend,i entirely agree.
