Having stayed in the Int'l Dve area twice we'd like to stay closer to Disney. Neither of us wants to drive so can anyone confirm if the Buena Vista area is fine for non-drivers? Can you walk to restaurants and shops etc or is a car essential? Also is there a Walmart close by?

The hotels on Buena Vista Drive (that leads up to the Disney village) are fine for non drivers. Although you have brands like The Hilton, they are mostly affordable due to the current exchange rate (I was there in Nov). The hotels also have a free coach system which takes you to all the various bits of Disney (ie Magic Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon etc). They normally run every 1/2 hour, but some are hourly, so check before you use them to avoid hanging around. The Disney village is within easy walking distance with several restaurants of various sorts, but we found the prices had gone up compared to our previous visits. The closest Walmart is down the main road toward Kisseemee (I-95?) . Its about a 10 minute drive and you can buy all your normal groceries, souveniers, car tyres and a high velocity rifle, but no alcoholic spirits!!!
