Anyone out there been to North Korea? I'm thinking of going next June from Beijing for a few days. I'd be grateful for any info.
Thanks

I've only been to South Korea, but I would love to go to the North. It looks a fascinating place. I know that American and South Korean citizens cannot get in. I wonder how I would stand with a South Korean year-long visa stamped in my passport.

I've been to Dandong (China) and on the Yuli River, the border with the DPRK. You can go very close to the shore by boat. Have no idea how you would fare with a S Korea visa, but can give you the contact for a tour firm in Beijing if you're interested. They take organised groups. There is a quota for tourist numbers each year, but I seem to have read that the Govt will give consideration to US citizens. I think (not sure) that media employees and the armed forces are excluded.
