i never have, just a driving lience will do.
Only if you're flying, but a photo driving licence will do otherwise. Check with the airline.

There is no requirement for a passport for UK citizens travelling to the Republic of Ireland.
A photo driving licence will do even if you are flying, even with Ryanair.

The ID is only for airline security reasons - the Irish authorities do not require a passport.

You don't need a passport to drive between Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland. You Don't need a passport to travel by Ferry.

To Fly there it depends on the Airline. With airline I am going to use a photo Driving licence will do
