I am due to travel to Majorca, Ca'n Picafort, mid October. I have never holidayed at this time of year before, we usually go the first 2 weeks of August to Santa Ponsa and pay for a taxi transferdue to it being so busy and I hate waiting around on the coach for the usual slow tourists and those who think they are the only people on holiday! This year we are being a little more adventurous!!! Would anyone have any advice about whether to stick to the coach transfer (thomson) or would you recommend I still pay for a private one. I am travelling with 3 restless kids, aged 5, 9 and 42! Many thanks

If you really dont like the coach transfer and personally I dont then book a taxi. One firm I have used in Majorca is Majorca Airport Transfers

http://www.majorca-airport-transfers.com/

They are currently quoting 76 Euros each way for a taxi.

Maybe searching on Google will find a local taxi firm that is cheaper
To give another view, I'd do neither.

Hire a car, either through Thompsons or through Holiday Autos and the like.

For not much more than a private transfer you've got use of the car for the whole holiday.

Maybe a bit of adventure finding the accommodation the first time.....
