I understood that the fires were on mainland Greece and as Rhodes is probably about 1000 miles from there, across water, off the Turkish coast I can't imagine a problem.

I doubt whether the charter flights will go near the area.
As JK2 says. Rhodes is nowhere near the fires (in fact, not very near mainland Greece) so, no problem.

Hello,

Expect 100 degrees plus. Have a great time
Question Author
Wow 100 degrees :)
I am not going until next week, hope its still that hot.
cheers...
Hi, came back from Rhodes on Wednesday last week. No disturbance from Greek mainland fires. Was v hot, hotter in the south of the island than the north and humidity was rising too. May well break by the time you go. Is a lovely island so enjoy. (Re the loo paper issue - from previous post - you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet in Greece, little pedal bins are provided and emptied every day or so. Nappy sacks are a good idea. You get used to it - honest!)

Emptied every day or so???
That mean i wont be trying any exotic food whilst i am there :)
Hey Katy, how much money do you reckon i will need for a week?
I do like to eat out a lot and leave generous tips, also i will be going out every night.
cheers
I usually allow 100 euros per day for 2 people. That includes breakfast and/or lunch, dinner with wine/beer and beer/ice creams throughout day as well as any shopping from supermarket etc. This holiday it was only me and my 10yr old, we got through 1000e but that included 300e worth of trips and duty free. We ate out every night (and day) 2-3 course meal with one person drinking cost around 35-40e depending on where and what we ate, plus tip. Also went to cocktail bars after dinner. 10yr old is a bad influence on me! Tend to spend a lot, you could do it on less. Have a great time, am really envious.

How much is that in ?
1000e is around 700. Was told that resorts in North of island are slightly cheaper than in the south but not sure this is true. i know you said it was allocate on arrival but have they given any indication of where you are likely to end up? Pefkos and Lindos are lovely, Pefkos, quite quiet, Lindos has a few clubs etc. Faliraki is now being marketed as a family resort, fab water park and endless clubs/bars. Trianda and Ixia - shingle beach, good for windsurfing etc. Rhodes Town is worth a visit, good shopping if you like that kind of thing.

No idea whatsoever where i am will end up :(
I was only gonna take about 300.
I hoped that would last me...
Cheers anyway :)
