Thinking about Eurotunnel Dover-Calais.
- What happens at Passport control and baggage check? do you stay in car and show through window. what about bags?
- Do you stay in car for journey?
I get panic attacks in unfamilar places with strangers so any detail will help.
TIA

You do always stay in car but they do randomly check on vehicles, if you get chosen (which we have a few times) then things have to be unloaded, they look under bonnet, in boot etc. they do wave a detector around the vehicle sometimes and on our last trip back they had alsation sniffer dogs looking for explosives (it was in july just few weeks after the glasgow airport trouble). But as we have nothing to hide i dont worry about it but i am pleased such security is in place. As far as when on the 'train' which is in effect what it is, you can get out of your car, there is a toilet (although ive never used it) and you can go from carriage to carriage. Give it a go im sure you will enjoy!
an aunt said " no thanks all those fishes watching you, it would give me the creeps"------ we tried to put her straight but we were laughing too much.
Just stay in the car, take a flask, sarnies and something to read. The journey will be over in a flash.
What I dont like is going by coach, they make you get out & you have to hang around in the Dover terminal where food etc is overpriced for absolutely ages and its so boring.
Best meal deal is when you travel on Eurostar the buffet car food is good and reasonably priced.
