If you are going in their summertime then forget coats and all the heavy clothing. Maybe just one lightweight "formal" outfit for restaurants etc? Don't bother taking hair shampoos and the like - buy them when you get there.
I always work on the basis that if I really need something I've left behind then I can always buy another over there.
ooh Im off to NZ in 4 weeks (for 3 weeks) and im just deliberating the very same question lol
i will probably take too much cos I love shoes n bags but it will be springtime there so no heavy clothing, just large range of tops and a few pairs of trousers n skirts
best idea is to write out a list of outfits for each day, using each item of clothing a few times, its easy to wash through a t shirt etc overnight. i always write an outfit plan then put one extra outfit just in case, never fails for me, and i take the smallest of small cases away with me!
I've spent my life travelling. The most simple way is to take virtually nothing! Buy what you need there. The exchange rates are such that you'll hav fantastic bargains, you'll take care of your clothing needs for the next year, and you'll avoid all the hassle.
It really is the easiest way! And great value for money!
