Quality Mallorca
Hi, we are looking for a quality hotel in Mallorca, preferably a private hotel that is not full of tourists, lager louts and misbehaving children. Don't mind paying good money for good service, food, pool and facilities

In Palma, I love the Hospes Maricel Hotel. I assure you, its far from the hoi polloi that often plague some of the Balearic Islands. Its small and intimate, with under thirty rooms and the service is excellent. What I enjoy most is the privacy.

If you dont mind driving to the North, then Id recommend staying in Pollena, then Id recommend the Son Brull Hotel & Spa, which is built within an 18th century Monastery. Again, in keeping with my own preferences, the hotel is quiet and removed from all the noise and bustle that can sometimes rob us of our relaxation.

Those two would be may favourite. I should point out that they are not actively promoted within the UK, instead drawing much of their guest base from other locations.
Finally, if youre looking for an original rustic Finca, you might be interested in the following:

Hi have a look at http://theothermallorca.com ,they have some really lovely boutique type hotels and villas. I have also used http://i-escape.com This site is brilliant and gives you all sorts of reports, pros and cons etc. We went to Palma using them in Sept and they were great.
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions - the problem I have now is worse than the one I started with - CHOICE!
We have been to Mallorca twice before, once in a villa, then in a private hotel - which was very nice but too remote. We generally always head for the north of the island as we love Pollenca.
Once again, thanks very much for your help, I'll send you all a virtual post card when we go!
