Passport validity?

I am travelling to south Africa from the 25th of Nov to the 25th Jan. However my passport expires on the 24th June of next year. I am unsure if i need a full 6 months on my pasport when i leave to come home.

Does anyone know if i need to get a new passport asap before i travel, or if i can manage on this one and renew it once i am home next year?
