Our first holiday in the school holidays is proving to be a costly nightmare - can anyone recommend a good budget holiday idea (min 3 star whether camping or luxuriating) for a week in August (depart 20 -23), either UK or abroad, for 2 adults and a 4yr old? Failing that, know any good websites? My Travel, Teletext, etc. are failing to come up with anything value for money!

Try frenchconnections.co.uk and go to their Late Availability Search. Now is the time to snap up a bargain because the owners can't afford to have their properties empty in the prime months. You should find something for 200-300GBP for a week. To get there, book the Eurotunnel and make sure you stipulate a departure time after 2pm and return time before 2pm. You should be offered a 100GBP ticket.
Try lastminute.com or haystravel.com! But a personal favourite of mine is haven holidays, great for familys and loads to do, plus the weather should be ok in august, however this might be abit out of ur budget! If ur still struggeling is it possible for you to wait untill the week before and book a last minute deal over teletext! hope u find something and u have a lovely holiday!
