Many Europeans and British overlook the west coast of Mexico. Manzanillo is on the same latitude as Hawaii and the Pacific is very blue and inviting. Over the years, we've stayed at several places in or near Manzanillo... here's one of our favorites: http://www.tomzap.com/VLA.html
Agreed, Clanad. But the trouble for us Brits is that no charter flights go to the West Coast - have to change in Mexico City, Miami or LA.
Suggest you look down the coast from Cancun (where you can easily fly to). Plenty of good resorts down there. Just avoid Cancum - rather full of 18 yr old Americans experiencing alcohol for the first time.
And thoroughly enjoyed it. It has it's own private beach (man made). The Spa Palace resorts are a chain and guests were able to get coaches to the other ones in Mexico. It depends what you want from your holiday though. :)
hey when I went we met the Mexican Olympic triathlon team , they were doing the triathlon there and they were lovely and amazingly enough they knew Rivington cos they had done an event on the cycle track there!! we were stunned! and yes there were a few yanks but more canadians and they were lovely, just avoid spring break
