Cyprus car hire
8 Answers
Hi, could anyone recommend a good car hire company in the Paphos area? We have been quite a few times before but missed coming last year and I know how quickly companies can lose a good name. The ones I can remember are still showing prices in Cypriot pound as well so not sure if still in business. We will need something quite substantial because in a remote village for part of the holiday.

I thoroughly recommend Z&X in Agapinoros street. Before we bought a house and a car in Cyprus we used them two or three times a year for about 12 years and always received excellent service. Usually we'vetaken a hatchback or small saloon, but last time we had people out while we were still renting cars we had a Nissan Terrano which will go anywhere and give you 7 seats, and on other occasions we've had a Suzuki Vitara when we haven't needed the extra space but did need the go-anywhere capability. If you don't need the 4-wheel drive Xenia will find you something to suit if you give her your requirements by e-mail.

Just noticed your second post, tickledtrout - sorry I missed it first time! Lysos is a bit out of the way but the roads up there are good so you won't need 4wd unless you're exploring the forest trails - although even these are negotiable (with great care, in the dry!) in an ordinary car provided you've got reasonable ground clearance.
Thankyou both for your answers, have stayed before in Lysos, the roads are very good and probably won't bother going to cedar valley again or the Akamas so will go for something smaller than a 4 wheel drive.
