I am travelling from East Midlands Airport to Malta next month and would like to see a virtual flight map of the route that we are flying but can't seem to find one anywhere.

The actual route taken by the aircraft will depend on the air traffic corridors allocated to it by air traffic controllers.

As an Air Traffic Controller, I can tell you Chris is right. Your exact route won't be known until the day you fly. The company will have a standard flightplan for East Midlands to Malta, but there are so many factors that can cause a route to be changed - delays en-route, activity of military areas, whether or not it's a weekend - the list goes on.

From East Midlands to Malta, you'll probably leave UK airspace between Southampton and Dover and keep heading south - it depends entirely on the day. If there are delays in the middle of France, it's conceivable you'll fly over Norwich and then turn south once you reach Holland.
