Hi everyone, I'm thinking of taking my husband to New York in November for his 40th birthday. Has anyone been and what is it like? Does anyone know of any good places to stay or know any good sites that I can go on to have a look and maybe book something? Does anyone know of any good deals to New York? Thanks all x

Its great, so much to see and do, try and stay as central as possible, lots of walking and take the hop on hop off tour bus, hotels depend on what you want to pay, we stay at the Marriot Marquis on Broadway with a view of Times Square or at one of the Dorral hotels [Dorral Court I believe] but we had to walk a bit, there are lots and lots of good hotels.
Nov will be cold though. Good luck.

you could spend a day in central park if the weather is good.
you have the natural history museum there well worth a visit also n y zoo plus just to stroll around the park

Been to New York couple of times, love it! would recommend a central hotel as previous answer said. I stayed in New Yorker hotel, was close to Empire State. Also, few websites available that will allow you to book attractions before you go - we booked helicopter rides, empire state building and you can also book for broadway shows. for a cheap way to see statue of liberty, take the staten island ferry, much cheaper!! www.nyc.com is a pretty good site. have a fab time x
