Baggage store

My husband and I arrive early into Port of Miami and do not leave for the UK until the evening. Can anyone advise us if there is a storage facility in the area so that we can leave our luggage until we leave.

Some cruise lines provide a day room at a hotel where baggage can be safely stored.

After 9-11 there are not many places wanting to keep stuff for you, best bet is to look up a few local hotels and ask them about their luggage storage rooms. There is not really a lot to do around the port area anyway, maybe look into doing and afternoon tour and keeping your bags with you.

No left luggage facilities in the Port area after 9/11. You do not say what cruiseline you are with but some offer a post cruise tour (your luggage goes with you in the coach) either around Miami or to the Everglades. They drop you at the airport around 3pm. Alternatively you could hire a car and drive round yourself for the day and then drop the car off at the airport. 1 day car hire is very cheap in the USA. Otherwise if you do the cruise transfer they will have you at the airport by 10am so I suggest taking a good book because there is nothing to do at Miami airport.
