Low plastic fences alongside motorways

Has anyone noticed these? About a foot high, clear plastic, with wooden posts every 6 feet or so. Often found near roadworks (eg M1 south of Dunstable at the moment)

What on earth are they for? Also - they suddenly stop for no obvious reason....

Reptile fence. If works are planned there will be search and relocation of reptiles, often newts. The fence is erected to prevent animals relocating the cleared area.

Only one problem with that alan30, Newts are AMPHIBIANS, (not reptiles).

OK, I missed out the 'and'!

reptiles, and often newts.

Hopefully johnboy63 gets the idea. Fence applies to reptiles and/or amphibians.
