Hi

I went to Ayia Napa last year in June with my boyfriend we are both 21 and we loved it!! We want to go again this August but have heard it is really expensive now that it has changed to Euro's does anyone know if this is true? Ayia Napa is quite expensive anyway, is it noticeably different in price i.e. cocktails and food.

We don't really go shopping so the price of everything else isn't an issue.

The other place we are thinking about going to is Gumbet , in Turkey but my boyfriend isn't keen on going here as we have heard that the Turks are quite annoying when it comes to girls with blond hair!! Is this true? And would you say ayia napa and gumbet are roughly the same price for drinks and food?

We are definitely keener on going to Ayia Napa, but we have a budget for our spending money which is the same as we took last year, it did us fine then and we came back with a bit of money will it do this year?

Hi there, I'm living in Cyprus & I'll give you the whole truth. The problem for the British tourist, it's gonna be difficult unless the exchange rate goes up. Compared to last year - you're losing 20 Euros to 100. This in turn, makes thngs expensive, combined with the exchange rate we were given, 0.585274 which means you times the Euro Price by the rate to find the equivelent in Cy. Unfortunately, the change to Euro & at the same time the increase in fuel costs has pushed prices to ridiculous levels.

The site visitayianapa.com can be of great use to yourselves.

As for Turkey, I've no idea (obviously) & would prefer you didn't go but that's totaly your decision. In case you didn't know (but I'm sure you do) Turkey occupies 1/3 of Cyprus since 1974 & if anybody says it's the other way around, I can't help them.

Some person (a brit) told me Cyprus was not that expensive compared to another place he took his family too.
